Crazy Night...

I had dinner with my small group tonight for the last "official" time. 

there's 17 girls total...but only 11 could make it tonight. We spent a good 3 hours doing affirmations which was just unbelievably powerful and heart wrenching. 

To hear those girls say what they love about each other and hear how they've influenced each other this last year reaffirmed my deep, deep belief in the power of small groups. Let's just say quite a few tears were shed. It was awesome.

At the end they decided it was my turn to be affirmed and it nearly ripped my heart out. With my internship ending here shortly i'm not really sure what next year looks like...which breaks my heart. 

The things those 11 girls said to me tonight refilled and refueled my recently empty, worn out heart. I had a conversation with one of my girls that ended with her bringing up this:

I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked men, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary.

Revelation 2:2-5

That's what I want to be. That's how I want to finish this internship. 

I love my girls so much.

Now this is the part i don't understand...

So, i'm watching the Laker game and once again it's in SPANISH! 

The funny part tonight was the announcer shouting after EVERY BASEKT 

"si seniooooor!!!!!" 

now, that's not even the strangest part....

the strange part is that ALL of the commercials were in english

the halftime report in english

and now that the game is off, the news is in english. 

i'm so confused....

couple things....

#1 velveeta shells and cheese is clearly the best macaroni and cheese. 

#2 when housesitting and making velveeta shells and cheese...one should always look for the strainer before said macaroni is ready to be strained. 

#3 when i come home everyday and the house smells like urine...should i wonder if they have a cat they just didn't tell me about???

#4 this tv is only showing the Laker game in spanish....so all i hear is blah blah blah KOBE BRYANT blah blah blah. it's pretty awesome.

Things that are scary....

having watched The Strangers last night and housesitting by myself for the next 3 weeks.....really good decision.

but it was SUPER awesome. 

I really love scary movies...just not when i'm home alone.

So i got to shoot and edit a video for big church this week. 

I don't think i took a breath  until i dropped the DVDs off in the media room at 1:30 today. 

the outside shot at the end is super bright...but other than that i felt pretty good about it.

We've been having an absolute blast! 

I'm staying in a room with Bethany, Allison, and Katie Edwards.

Tonight we got into a HEATED debate over the UGLY curtains hanging in our room. 

They made me feel like an idiot because i said it wasn't a valance...it was something else. ( i couldn't remember the dang name!) 

I wouldn't give up my obvious win because i KNEW I WAS RIGHT. 

So we called bethany's mom and she knew exactly what i was talking about and it's called 

A CORNICE BOARD!

i heart chick flicks

Most people that know me probably wouldn't guess that i LOVE super girly love movies... 

But i TOTALLY do! And this one was SO CUTE! Super predictable and cheesy....but i LOVED it! I saw it tonight with one of my best friends and a new friend....and all 3 of us loved it. so so good. It made me laugh out loud SEVERAL times...which i realize isn't totally hard....but i seriously thought it had its moments of being super funny. 

Well done McDreamy, well done.

I just found this button on my alarm clock that lets it make sounds while I sleep. 

My choices are 

• a thunderstorm
• waves crashing
• the rainforest
• rain
• summer night
• and a waterfall

I'm one of those crazy people that has to have some sort of noise when i sleep. 

typically its a fan which makes my room freezing

tonight i chose the rain...i'm gonna sleep so good.
